Concrete Bases and Existing Building Removals
Once you’ve ordered your new garage, you’re going to need your existing building taken down (whether it’s an old garage or an old shed) and then a concrete base needs to be laid. Sometimes it’s the case where the old base is adequate and no further base works are required, but more often than not a new concrete garage base is required. Usually the old base is not suitable, either because it’s not level or there are cracks in it. Once all this work is done, you are then ready for your new garage!
Below are some of the relevant services we can provide:
Existing Building Removals
We would be pleased to carry out a site visit to quote for an existing building removal.
For quotations by return please send us an email (complete with site post code) attaching a couple of photos showing the site access and building to be removed and we would be pleased to provide a quote by return email.
Existing Garage Base
We often are able to carry out a free site survey to check the condition of any existing garage bases. If you would like to take advantage of this service please ring us on: 01234 825106
Note:
We are unable to check the condition of an existing base whilst any original building is still standing.
We use specialized equipment to check for any dips or troughs sometimes not visible to the eye. The equipment we use is not able to work accurately when any building remains on the base.
New Bases
If you decided to get your new base done with us, then please give a ring on 01234 825106 for a quote.
Once we get the go ahead, the process usually takes from 2 to 5 days to complete. Here is a rough overview of the process:
- The old base is removed,
- We dig down to an appropriate depth,
- Fill with hardcore,
- Lay a damp-proof membrane,
- Pour the new base.
Extending or remedial works to existing bases
We are no longer able to offer a service to extend, repair or carry out other works to existing concrete bases. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
We would recommend that you contact a local builder for a quote and to carry out this type of work.
